How about that!? We get two days of UCI/USAC racing in the PNW!
Most races in our part of the country are technically “unsanctioned”, meaning that racers are not scored or qualify for upgrade points. This really only matters if you would like to race above “Cat 4” in other parts of the county or if you want to race at a national level.
The other big deal, and maybe more relevant to the cyclocross fans, is that when you have a UCI sanctioned race you can attract more Pro/Elite level racers to your event. To them, points are a really big deal since they help determine whether or not you get into the biggest races and what kind of starting position you get.
So with all that being said, it’s worth trying to make it to these two days of racing not just to race, but to see your favorite elite racers out there doing their thing!
