I have a love/hate relationship with this venue.
I love it in that it’s one of the more challenging courses you will race. My problem with it is that I get crushed every time I race it and keep hoping to get lapped so I have a good excuse to not have to that last lap.
It really does have a bit of everything. If you can put out some power over short sections and recover quickly, then this is your kind of course. There are steep, punchy climbs, drag races through sand, and various versions of hairpin turns to contend with.
It’s a good time, but be prepared to hang it all out there. Here’s my experience with the race last year, including some poor choices in trying out a new tubeless setup.
